Mixed Reactions as Paul Dacre Leaves "Mail"

Gay bloggers and news commentators have broadly welcomed the news that Paul Dacre is to finish as the editor of the Daily Mail newspaper at the end of the year. Under his twenty five year reign at the paper, he is felt by many to have pushed conspiracy theories about LGBT people, Europe, and migrants to name but a few. On the other hand, the Mail has occasionally surprised the public with unexpected editorial stances. It praised activist Peter Tatchell for his attempt to render a citizens arrest on dictator Robert Mugabe, and published a major article exposing the anti-gay extremist Stephen Green of “Christian Voice” as a child abuser and wife beater.
