May Put Down for International Womens Day

10/03/2019

The liberal daily paper The Guardian, reporting on events that took place for International Women's Day in the UK, says that a journalist lost out to the wit of the Prime Minister Theresa May on Friday. Mrs May was answering questions at the end of a press conference on Brexit. A female journalist heckled the PM, saying “No time for a question from a female reporter?”, to which she responded, “You've been answered by a FEMALE Prime Minister!”. Theresa May has in recent years changed her position to support female and LGBT equality measures, and has now spoken about her regret that colonial era laws still discriminate against gay and trans people in many Commonwealth Countries.
