Tech Giants Used by Unsavoury Regimes - HRW

Human Rights Watch, an international NGO based in Washington DC, has issued a campaign alert on the annual date designated as "Digital Privacy Day".  They say "raise your voice to tell Meta platforms, Facebook and Instagram, to take immediate action to safeguard their users. These social media platforms are used by bad actors and security forces to entrap LGBT people living in oppressive regimes by using fake profiles and chats, subjecting them to online extortion, harassment, and outing in posts online."
