LGBTQIA Ally Carol Vorderman is to return to radio. The famous presenter, who leapt to the defence of fellow broadcaster, the gay Radio 2 star Owain Wyn Evans, when he was subject to homophobic abuse, will join the national talk network LBC . Carol will be a welcome progressive voice on the station, broadcasting every Sunday afternoon. Vorderman left her previous job with BBC Radio Wales after disagreeing with the BBC policy on expressing political opinion on social media. Carol said to RCS Radio Today the media website, : “I’m delighted to be joining LBC and the phenomenal stable of powerful voices on the station. More than ever, live radio is an incredibly important platform for news, so I’m looking forward to returning to a medium that I love. And what a year 2024 is going to be for news and politics!" LBC was the UK's first legal commercial radio station in October 1973 and concentrates on news and opinion. It is available in London on 97.3 FM and around the UK on digital DAB platforms.
