Fundamentalist Accused of Murdering Own Son

09/04/2024

The Guardian newspaper reports that a woman following religious teachings of a Biblical fundamentalist sect denies murdering her own three year old son, after beating him in accordance with the religion's extreme interpretation of scripture.  Christina Robinson told Newcastle Crown Court that she had seen a You Tube video published by an obscure religious sect called the Black Hebrew Israelite Movement, who are homophobic and believe that Biblical injunctions should be imposed on society.  The video in question told viewers like Robinson to beat their children into submission.  When the little boy was "messing about", Robinson followed the instructions and killed him.  Robinson is also accused of deliberately scalding him, causing severe burns to his legs and buttocks in the weeks before his death. The court has heard that she chose not to get any medical help for the burns, which would have caused terrible pain.  It is important to note that the teachings of the Black Hebrew Israelite Movement are obscuritant and not reflective of the view of mainstream Christianity.
