The record label Past Perfect which specialises in music from the 1920s, 30s and 40s, have launched their own online radio station, Past Perfect Radio, which might be just what your granny would like or indeed, anyone who wants to explore the music that was popular before pop itself was a term. The station also has a spot of interest to students of LGBTQIA+ personalities and history. Every weeknight from seven PM, they play works from Noel Coward, the outrageously camp and witty raconteur, theatre star and lyricist. Coward never formally came out during his lifetime, but encouraged friends and biographers to make his homosexuality public following his death in 1973. Even in the changing times of the 1960s, Coward refused to acknowledge his sexual orientation publicly, wryly observing, "There are still a few old ladies in Worthing who don't know." The official Noel Coward Society celebrates his life and prolific work, for which he was dubbed "The Master" of theatre. They are marking the 125th anniversary of his birth this year.
