LGBT+ lobbying organisation and charity Stonewall is marking thirty five years of existence in 2024. To celebrate, they are inviting people to commit to walking ten thousand steps a day during March and raising funds for the charity in the process. A Spokesperson for Stonewall said "We've achieved so much, but in every community in the UK, LGBTQ+ people still face harm in their homes, schools and workplaces, with the institutions meant to protect us too often remaining silent or unable to fully support. Don’t be silent this March. Make every step count and take on our Steps for Stonewall challenge, commit to doing 10,000 steps a day throughout the month, have fun, and raise funds to help us fight for all LGBTQ+ people. As a thank you for setting up your fundraising page, we'll send you a free pair of our famous Rainbow Laces for you to lace up and wear with pride as your hit your step goals. Once you hit £50 of your target, we'll also send you a free Stonewall T-Shirt to show off." Feedback from the charity last year included people saying "“I was committed and determined to do it, I felt like I had really achieved something at the end of the challenge.” And also "I really loved the community feel that Stonewall and the challenge created."
