Party Brings Queer Joy to Brum Scene

26/02/2024

On Saturday March 2nd, a Queer Power Party is taking place in Birmingham to share the joy of our rainbow community and build community resilience.  Here are the details, courtesy of the event organisers, Fatt Projects.

The MOBILISE Queer Power Party is a raucous, joyful, and accessible sober dance party and silent disco. Get your headphones on and get ready to get your bodies moving, lower your inhibitions, and let loose through the power of queer joy.

MOBILISE is club culture for the queers; the butches, babs, femmes & thems. The gender benders, transcenders, the crips, fats and wheelers. The troublemakers, rule breakers, the faggots, dykes, and divas. The black, white, brown, yellow, technicolour dreamers.

Expect performance, live vocals, drag, live DJs, unforgettable music and plenty of dancing. It’s time to turn up the BPM and come together on the dance-floor and we mobilise our bodies and move towards a brighter, queerer future.

This is an inclusive sober dance party, created specifically to empower people to dance, take up space, feel confident and celebrate themselves. MOBILISE is a party for anyone who has felt like they don’t belong in existing LGBTQ+ nightlife spaces; we are a pro-fat, pro-trans, pro-disabled, pro-women, anti-racist, alcohol free, pro-fabulous clubbing environment.

Performances throughout the night from GINNY LEMON, COCOA KINK, & ERIC SCUTARO, hosted by Fatt Butcher.

This edition we have an incredible line up of all disabled DJs spinning beats: So Sha, One for the People, Caroline the DJ & Gemma Nash.

Whilst this is a free event, the venue has a fixed capacity. Advance booking recommended, limited number of tickets available on the door.

MOBILISE is an 18+ event, this is a sober space (free from alcohol or drugs) for the LGBTQ+ community. MOBILISE is a space that centres accessibility, and has been created with disabled community members. Experienced through wireless headphones (provided), audiences have the ability to adjust their personal volume levels and take a break from the music at any time by simply removing their headphones.

The space includes:
