Bristol Pride are celebrating this week after the organisation was named the Pride Event of the Year at an awards ceremony sponsored by the full time dance music LGBTQIA plus radio network Gaydio. A spokesperson for the Gaydio Pride Awards said: “Bristol Pride continues to be a unique and important event that celebrates the LGBT+ community and offers the chance to connect people in the community and beyond.” Local alternative newspaper B247 reported that the 2023 Pride event had lasted two weeks and culminated in a twenty five thousand strong festival on the Downs. Bristol Pride themselves said "The countdown to Bristol Pride 2024 has begun. Pride Day will take place on Saturday 13 July" and noted that advance supporter wristbands were on sale now.
