We are in the middle of Lesbian Visibility Week! Bristol Pride have some words of support and solidarity with the lesbian community and in recognition of the incredible contribution to politics, culture, the arts and science from gay women over the centuries. From trailblazers like Anne Lister to the Greenham Common Peace Camp Women right through to the staff of progressive bookstores, and the lesbians who brought the knowledge of organising in the feminist health movement through to the AIDS service groups of the eighties. Bristol Pride say ""Our aim is celebrate lesbians and show solidarity with all LGBTQI women and non-binary people in our community. We believe in unity, and lifting up those who are most marginalised. Building on this, we want to create a week that recognises, celebrates and importantly supports lesbian, bisexual, transgender and queer women across the UK and beyond to be their true selves at work, at home and socially."
