US Anti-Gay AIDS "Humourist" Dies of Covid

09/10/2021

Pink News and the atheist magazine The Freethinker both display a certain sang-froid as they report on the death this week of one of the most vicious anti-gay public commentators active in America. Far right wing pastor, commentator and cultural critic Bob Enyart died of Covid19 after lecturing people not to take Covid vaccines, claiming that they were derived from cells culled from aborted foetuses. Enyart's stunts in the nineteen nineties included ridiculing people who had passed on from AIDS to the tune of the Queen song “Another One Bites the Dust”. Barry Duke for the Freethinker said that Enyart would be remembered as a homophobe who opposed any and all scientific progress, as recently as 2012 still rambling about evolution being a hoax. In LGBTQ and atheist chat forums responses to Enyart's death varied. San Ban remarked “ Bob Enyart was also a liar. The fact that he cloaked himself in religion doesn't excuse his lies, including the lie that hate is something he was born with.” Blogger Machintelligence also noted that the Financial Times reported that “He also served a couple of months in jail for child abuse for beating his girlfriend's son with a belt”.
