Rally United Against Anti-Asian Hate Crime

31/03/2021

The long standing San Francisco paper the Bay Area Reporter notes that LGBTQ groups put aside their differences and rallied alongside anti-racists on Sunday in response to an act of anti-Asian terror in Atlanta, which had left eight people dead. The nationwide US charity the GLBTQ+ Asian Pacfic Alliance was a key organiser of the march of solidarity against racism. The Bay Area Reported “One of the most emotional speeches of the day was from Eugene Clifton Cha, a gay Korean man who shared his fear and disbelief upon hearing about the attacks in the Atlanta area last week. He encouraged everyone to take the time to mourn, check in with others, and take care of themselves, but also to allow themselves to be moved to action.” A full report, including video footage is available at this website ebar.com, which is home page of the Bay Area Reporter.
