“Pitchfork” is an independent online magazine of culture and music, and is always worth a visit for those interested in new releases, bands touring schedules and also how music fits in with society and politics. “Pitchfork” has published a guide to organisations that are making a difference to African-American and LGBTQ lives in the troubled United States. Among the projects that they highlight are the Bail Project, which provides bail assistance to Americans on low incomes if under arrest. Also brought to our attention is Southerners on New Ground which is an LGBTQ led non-profit group which for the last thirty years has organized across issues of race, class, gender, and ability, including campaigning for protections against police profiling. Visit the Pitchfork website for more information and to browse the full list of links – and whilst your there, check out latest news in culture, music and politics.
