Investigations are continuing after a pick up truck was driven into a crowd at a Pride Parade celebration on Sunday evening in the town of Wilton Manors in Florida. Two people were injured and a further spectator killed in the incident. However, there is no immediate evidence that this was a deliberate act. The truck which drove into the crowd was itself bedecked in Pride memorabilia and a later post by the Ford Lauderdale Gay Men's Chorus issued a statement clarifying that the man who had driven the truck and was now in Police custody, was a member of the Chorus group. Several spokespeople, commenting in the press and on broadcast media emphasised that there was therefore no evidence yet to suspect that this was a pre-meditated attack on the LGBTQ communities of Florida.
