LGBTQIA activists have long argued that homophobic people are also misogynists, dangerous to children, women and indeed any sane person. From Australia comes a heartbreaking case that bears out this assertion. A court in North Queensland has sentenced an abusive heterosexual father of two to three years imprisonment for assaulting his own six year old boy for having contact with another boy he thought was too intimate, and in his words “gay”. The man, who has not been named for reasons of due legal process, is reported by gay blog Queerty to have then beaten up the mother of his son, when she tried to defend her children, one of whom is a three year old girl who was also traumatised by the assault. The man strangled his wife until she passed out, and then repeatedly hit her again when she recovered. One user of the website Queery remarked: “This man is sick and he doesn’t need to be around children, period! The fact that he’s also a wife-beater when he becomes mad should let her know that he cannot be trusted as a mate either. She should divorce him in my opinion, he’s shown them already what he will and can do.”
