The antics of anti-transgender feminists have included many textbook operations from the far right, including disrupting Pride Parades, trampling on rainbow flags, flypostering liberal media like the Guardian and developing evidence less conspiracy theories that criminal women were secretly trans. Now, feminist icon Judith Butler, who has thirty years experience in fighting for women's liberation, puts the anti-trans groups firmly in their place, in an uncompromising interview. Butler, who is a respected philosopher and academic, said “The trans exclusionary radical feminists and the so-called gender critical writers have rejected the important work in feminist philosophy of science showing how culture and nature interact… in favour of a regressive and spurious form of biological essentialism.” Butler continued “It is very appalling and sometimes quite frightening to see how trans-exclusionary feminists have allied with right-wing attacks on gender.” “anti-gender ideology is one of the dominant strains of fascism in our times”, and added “anti-trans feminists will not be part of the contemporary struggle against fascism”.
