Additional Boost for Awareness from Google

21/11/2020

Google, one of the world’s largest corporations, is sometimes accused of not doing enough to stop the dissemination of hate or misinformation about minorities on the internet.  Sometimes this failure to police what goes on is due to the sheer size of the internet, and its wild west and unregulated nature, which is both a blessing and a curse.  But as a corporation, we need to note that Google is an equal opportunites employer and is a supporter of LGBTQ freedom.  On its landing page this week, there is a small trans pride flag which leads you to a whole series of trans portals on the web allowing the browser to explore more of trans life and identities.  Thanks Google. For many people, the internet is their lense through which to view the world, so having a trans acknowledgement and links to resources is educational.
