Lesbian Lifting Couple Promote Gym Sports

07/11/2022

Sam Taylor and Sue Taylor-Franklin, the powerlifters who are said to be “Britain’s strongest lesbian couple” have given a lengthy interview to LGBTQ+ top newswire Pink News. The women have several records between them and are planning a new world record attempt in 2023, which is being kept secret for now. They discuss how weightlifting has mental health benefits and their hope to open their home gym to marginalised people within the LGBTQIA spectrum so that they too can enjoy the benefits of the sport. What’s more, they look at something that gym going gay men and women have found for some time – being physically strong can put off would be misgynists and homophobes from having a go. The couple reveal that although they have received the usual right wing trolling on social media, no one has tried to physically confront them.
