Handball Star Comes Out to Acclaim

01/05/2022

In Sports news, newswire Queerty.com reports that Norwegian professional handball player Ola Hoftun Lillelien has come out as gay, joining several already out players in the game.  Lillelien says that he was already out to family and friends and had received nothing but support and appreciation.  Noting that it is more than fifty years since his home country decriminalised samesex relationships, Lillelien also quoted King Harald V of the Kingdom of Norway, who once said “Norway is boys who love boys, girls who love girls, and girls and boys who love each other”.  The comments board at Queerty was inundated with positive and supportive messages for Lillien.
