Gas Girls Footie Team Have Pride in their Kit

The community newspaper The South Bristol Voice, which is distributed free of charge throughout the areas south of the River Avon, reports that Bristol Rovers Women’s Team, known colloquially as the Gas Girls, have a new away kit sponsored by Bristol Pride Festival. Eve Russell, speaking for Bristol Pride told the paper, “Sport reaches and connects with so many people.... Homophobia remains a big problem in sport and this is a very clear message”. Go gas girls! Here at ShoutOut, we do wish the Rovers Women’s Team a successful remainder of the season, but we also want to extend our support to Bristol City Women’s Team, and of course, all the local non league sides that encompass women’s and LGBTQIA football. These include the Bristol Panthers and the well known radical side Easton Cowboys and Cowgirls.
