Synagogue Asks for TransWoman's Help for Shul

In Liverpool, a Jewish transgender woman, who is well loved and supported in her local synagogue, agreed to be counted as a male for the purposes of making the congregation, quorate, known in Hebrew as shul, in order that celebrations for the autumn feast of Succot could go ahead. The Jewish Chronicle reports that The woman sits in the historic synagogue’s female section of the Prince's Road synagogue and has been “very supportive of the shul”, Senior warded Saul Marks said “She has a number of friends in the congregation and is very welcome.”
