The Islamic Holy Month of Ramadhan commences tomorrow evening, when the full moon is sighted above the Saudi City of Mecca. Muslims will be fasting during the hours of daylight and committing to acts of charity for the lunar month's duration. LGBT Muslim groups such as London's Imaan have sent their customary Ramadhan greetings to their supporters, as have the Association of British Muslims, the oldest Muslim grouping in the UK, and one of the first to take a positive position on LGBT equality. This year, there is no special event radio service in the Bristol area for Ramadhan, but the digital radio station Awesome Radio will be offering non stop nasheeds and devotional music through the month.
