One cannot overestimate the important behind the scenes work being conducted by LGBT Christians across Anglican and other denominations in the broad Christian traditions in the United Kingdom. Many LGBT people find great comfort and joy in being part of the Christian churches. Although it is true that there are hateful people within the religion, it is also true that there have been many cases where LGBTQ people have found courage and protection from their faith communities. So, it is worth noting that Luke Dowding, Executive Director of “One Body One Faith”, an umbrella group which for many years was known as the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement, has concluded the year with a review of the networks activities over the course of 2019. He cites the group's discussions and workshops at the Christian festival Greenbelt as being a particular source of Pride for him. Retreats for LGBTQ Christians and a new video series helping the wider Christian movement understand the journeys of gay, bi, trans and non-binary people of faith, all formed part of the organisation's work in the last twelve months. The group of course, sends its Christmas greetings to all LGBTQ people in the Christian faith.
