National Trust Vote Organiser is Extremist

19/09/2022

LGBTQIA news website Pink News has named the well known religious extremist Stephen Green, who was revealed by the Daily Mail to have beaten his wife and who publishes anti-science, anti-secular and anti-feminist web logs, as the originator of a vote of National Trust members which seeks to stop the organisation having anything to do with Pride events. Pink News researcher Lily Wakefield writes “Despite the organisation having almost six million members, resolutions for its Annual General Meeting (AGM), to be held on 5 November, can be put forward with the support of just 50 members. The Pride resolution has been spearheaded by Stephen Green, a National Trust member and director of the far-right, anti-LGBTQ+, anti-abortion, anti-evolution and anti-feminism website Christian Voice”. Wakefield notes that whilst the trustees of the National Trust have laid out their defence of taking part in Pride, they have no power to stop the vote going ahead on November 5th.
