LGBTQ Christian groups such as OneBody One Faith will be sending their greetings for Lent as the traditional period of fasting in Catholic and Anglican traditions begins with Ash Wednesday on 17th February. The previous day is Shrove Tuesday, when fatty foods and treats are traditionally used up before the period of Lent. Lent itself is a period of forty days before Easter, during which people usually give up something dear to them like chocolate or alcohol. It ends on Good Friday. Shrove Tuesday is sometimes called Pancake Day because of the meals that people enjoy to use up the fatty foods in their cupboards are pancakes. These can be savoury or sweet. Many LGBTQ Christian groups exist and are currently meeting online for services and fellowship. Have a good Shrove Tuesday if you are celebrating.
