And it is time for a special Litha Greeting to all our many pagan LGBT friends. Litha is also known by secular society as the Midsummer Solstice. The Pagan Federation, an organisation which since 1971 has tried to represent the many and varied pagan paths in Britain says: “At summer solstice is the festival of Midsummer, sometimes called Litha. The God in his light aspect is at the height of his power and is crowned Lord of Light. It is a time of plenty and celebration”. At the same time, many pagans recognise the eternal dance of life, death and renewal. With the height of the light, we also enter the second half of the year, and although the summer stretches away in a seemingly endless warm haze, on the distant horizon we prepare for darker nights, reflection, harvest and the renewal that comes with autumn and winter. If you need some inspirational music for the occasion, then there are several pagan radio networks online, including the UK based Wyldwood Radio project, and New Orleans located Wicca Radio Interantional. However you celebrate the season, we wish all LGBT pagans a joyful and blessed Summer.
