Bristol Local TV reports that Prince Harry has spoken about the “toxic” nature of the British press as he and his wife, Megan Markle prepare to leave the limelight in favour of a non-royal life in the United States. The Prince was speaking to James Corden on the “Late Late Show”, a top rated programme on the CBS Network in the States. The British press are blamed by some people for hounding to her death the late Princess Diana, Princess of Wales, who passed on in a motor accident in August 1997. Diana was known as the People's Princess for her campaigning work around landmines, and was popular with LGBTQ people for her public example of embracing people with AIDS at a time when the popular media was making it very difficult for this group of people. Prince Harry and his older brother William who is due to be the King Of England and Scotland after Charles, have embraced their late mother's compassion and humanity by talking openly about issues such as physical and mental health and are both known to be LGBTQ friendly, thus changing the nature of Britain's monastic hierarchy. Many British people will share Prince Harry's exasperation with the British tabloid papers, particularly the right wing titles like the Telegraph, Mail and Express, who have all professed loyalty to the monarchy whilst being homophobic and racist towards the people embraced by Diana, William and Harry. LGBTQ people will share Harry's verdict that the British Tory newspaper media are truly “toxic”.
