News site Pink News reports that one of the thundering opponents of samesex marriage in the UK, MP Peter Bone, has separated from his wife and is now living with a woman twenty years his younger. Mr Bone has consistently opposed every gay or transgender equality measure since being elected twelve years ago. He claimed that samesex marriage would destroy the heterosexual institution of marriage com pletly. Well, as if to prove the point, he's been commiting adultery. One commentator at the Pink News website quipped: “Just another casualty of same sex marriage. I guess I should feel guilty. But I don't. Instead I am drunk with this new evil superpower I have to destroy straight marriages! Bwa ha ha!”.
*NB** Since this article was broadcast, we want to make it clear that the line "now living with a woman twenty years his younger" is not intended to undermine those of our LGBTIQ communities who are in age-differential relationships. There are many people with age differences in their marriages and partnerships and they work splendidly.
