It is now forty five years since the first Gay Humanist Association was set up. Right wing moral might campaigner Mary Whitehouse was fixated on a non-existent homosexual and atheist lobby, but several campaigners who were in both camps thought "well, let's create one". GHA (later LGBT Humanists) was founded in 1979. Now, with LGBTQIA+ people and secular humanism far more central to many people's lives, the organisation looks back at forty five years of campaigning, socialising and services for the LGBTQIA+ communities. Now, The LGBT Humanists launch a landmark exhibition celebrating their 45th anniversary at Conway Hall, the ethical meeting hall in central London. Anticipate showcases, performances, and a short talk unveiling its creation. The event opens on July 11th, and tickets must be purchased to attend. From July 12th to 14th, entry is free, and no ticket is required.
