The leader of the Welsh Nationalist Party, Plaid Cymru, has blasted the Labour government in Wales for continuing to use the facilities of the private sector in the delivery of NHS Wales treatments. Adam Price, who is currently the only gay party leader at the Welsh Assembly, or Senedd, said ““Welsh Labour is reneging on its commitment to phase out reliance on the private sector. The First Minister is quick to reassure us that this is a short term measure to clear Covid-19 backlogs, but the truth is that waiting times exceeded targets long before the pandemic. By increasing reliance on the private sector, and failing to get to grips with an over-reliance on agency staff, this is privatisation of our NHS by stealth”.
Mae arweinydd Plaid Genedlaethol Cymru, Plaid Cymru, wedi tanio’r llywodraeth Lafur yng Nghymru am barhau i ddefnyddio cyfleusterau’r sector preifat wrth ddarparu triniaethau GIG Cymru. Dywedodd Adam Price, sef yr unig arweinydd plaid hoyw yn y Cynulliad, neu’r Senedd ar hyn o bryd, ““Mae Llafur Cymru yn ymwrthod â’i hymrwymiad i roi’r gorau i ddibynnu’n raddol ar y sector preifat. Mae’r Prif Weinidog yn gyflym i’n sicrhau mai mesur tymor byr yw hwn i glirio ôl-groniadau Covid-19, ond y gwir yw bod amseroedd aros wedi rhagori ar y targedau ymhell cyn y pandemig. Trwy gynyddu dibyniaeth ar y sector preifat, a methu â mynd i’r afael â gorddibyniaeth ar staff asiantaeth, mae hyn yn breifateiddio ein GIG yn llechwraidd”.
