Eddie is Pleased with Pronoun 'Promotion'

Pink News quotes the Irish Times newspaper which has caught up with Eddie Izzard, who narrowly missed being selected to stand as the Labour Party’s candidate in Sheffield at the next General Election. Izzard remarked that she had been “promoted” to the pronouns she and her after first using them on a television programme in 2020. “I thought it was a great honour, I’ve been promoted – promoted to she. That’s how it was. But I didn’t actively have a campaign about it. It just happened. You know, I came out 37 years ago.” Eddie is, according to the Metro newspaper, enjoying a brief run on Broadway in a one-person production of Charles Dickin’s classic novel “Great Expectations”.
