Koa Beck, the feminist theorist and cultural critic, previews her new book on White Feminism in the popular street sold magazine The Big Issue. Beck finds that majority feminist and radical separatist feminism are geared around the needs of white women, cisgendered women and are unfit for purpose. Indeed, she argues that the ideology is inherently capitalistic and encouraged women to succeed under patriarchy rather than replace it. Beck argues that a new understanding of intersectionality is needed, and a refreshed ideology that can meet the demands of the twenty first century oppressions. The book by Koa Beck is available now from good independent retailers such as News from Nowhere Liverpool, October Books Southampton, and larger chains like Waterstones.
