Davies: Gay Scene Will Regenerate after C19

03/02/2021

Russell T Davies has told the street sold paper The Big Issue that the gay scene may have to “go underground” for a while after the stresses of Covid19, but that it will regenerate and come back after all the health problems are over. Davies' new series about another pandemic, that of HIV and AIDS, and its impact on a group of LGBTQ friends living in London, is currently making waves with critics and is transmitted on Channel Four on Friday nights. Davies also told the Big Issue that it was all well and good the government making pronouncements about lockdown, but that many people on lower incomes do not have access to the internet and cannot have human contact by this means.
