LGBTQ identities often intersect with the Body Positive movement, as people resist what feminist thinker Adrienne Rich called Compulsory Heterosexualiy but also pressure from advertising and even sometimes health care providers to look a certain way. We celebrate and enjoy our diverse bodies as LGBTQ people. Nevertheless, if you do feel the need to up your activity this summer – perhaps just to get out in the hopefully better weather, then why not link up with Chrysalis, the South of England's leading charity for trans and non-binary people. Chrysalis are running a summer fundraising event, inviting people to get active and contribute towards a target of 2000 miles to raise money for essential services, such as counselling, group sessions and training. There is no restriction on what sporting or exercise events you might want to take part in. A sponsored walk, a marathon, a jog or just exercises in your backgarden can all count. Other ideas suggested by the charity include cycling, dog walking, dancing, stretches and lifting. To get involved pop along to the group's website at chrysalisgim.org.uk.
