Spain Reinstates Man in Catholic Employment

20/11/2021

Atheist and secular campaigners have welcomed news from Spain, where the supreme court, the Superior Court of Justice in Madrid, have struck down the dismissal of a technician working at a Catholic broadcasting station. The man had been dismissed for writing a supportive review of a film in which Jesus of Nazareth is depicted as being gay. According to media affairs website Radio Reporter.org, the court struck down the man's dismissal and ordered back wages to be paid because in Spain, there is no obligation for an employee to adhere to the ideology of their employer.
