Free Speech Row at Bristol University

02/03/2021

Bristol LGBTQ students and all those with an interest in hate crime, free speech and the boundaries between what is and what is not acceptable in political discourse are watching closely as a row develops at the University of Bristol.  A controversial academic called Professor Miller, whose views on Israel have been described as anti-Semitic and racist, has been invited to speak about his anti-Zionist beliefs.  The Union of Jewish Students and the Board of Jewish Deputies in the UK have said that Miller is a rabble rouser who promotes hate on campus.  You can read more about this case in Epigram, the Student Union newspaper.
