BBC-1 Show Looks at "False" Rape Claims

10/09/2020

There's not a huge amount of LGBTQ interest programming on television this Thursday night, 10th September that we could spot. However, people interested in sexual ethics and the law might find of value the documentery “I am Not A Rapist” on BBC-1, which goes out at 10.45pm. The BBC press release explains that of around 60,000 allegations of rape made each year, about eight percent are found to have been false or malicious. That's around 5,000 cases per annum. The BBC meets with three heterosexual males who were falsely accused, and examines the effect on themselves, girlfriends, wives, families and careers.
