It's a case of “are they, aren't they” and perhaps also “sneeze and you'll miss it” with the new commercial running now on television and video streaming services from an insurance giant the name of which we shan't inadvertintly give just here!. The new ad runs for around thirty seconds and shows various family set ups getting into their cars, which are of course, insured by the excellent brand. For around four seconds, we see a couple of boys getting into the back of a car with their two dads up front. The company have not officially confirmed whether the two men depicted in the commercial are indeed a samesex couple, a father and son, or are just two friends picking up their kids from football practice. We don't particularly mind either way. Perhaps in the future, there will be less fuss about representations like this, and it will not matter whether they are designed to be a gay couple or some friends.
