Hooligans Will Not Defeat Our Community

Beat-FM, a commercial radio station in South Western Ireland that has partnered with local Pride campaigns, says that rainbow flags have been cut down in Waterford by a group of heterosexual hooligans. Officers of the Gardai report that they were alerted to the criminal vandalism on Saturday morning last. The incident comes a week after other rainbow flags were burned by extrremists in the city. Councillor Damien Geoghegan says it’s “a truly despicable act”.
