Yesterday Looks Back at Turing Legacy

06/12/2017

Channel Yesterday, which broadcasts on many digital platforms, has been looking at the story of Alan Turing, whose work as a codebreaker helped the allies win the war and saved millions of lives. This week, the series considered Alan's terrible treatment by a homophobic establishment, and the affect on his mind and body of the chemical castration he was forced to endure. The programme revealed that Turing's amazing intellect had suffered, something that will - so the programme concluded - happen to any man who is deprived of testosterone.
