Sheeran Opens Up About Fat-Phobic Trolling

24/12/2019

Ed Sheeran has told listeners to a running blog that he lost four stones in weight after developing social anxiety due to trolling on social media. Mr Sheeran is one of the most successful artists of the last ten years, but that did not stop body image fanatics from criticising and undermining the singer songwriter on social media. Mr Sheeran was discussing his weight management with podcast “Behind the Medal”. According to the media website Digital Spy, Mr Sheeran remarked that many of the body image shamers are themselves struggling with their own psychological issues and project their self loathing outward on to others. Mr Sheeran has been praised however, by many commentators on image and pop music, for breaking in to an industry where thin people dominate and where red headed men like Mr Sheeran are often made to reel unattractive. Meanwhile, red headed website Ginger Parrott reports on the return for this New Year of the calendar “Red Hot European Boys”, which showcases some examples of attractive red headed males. https://gingerparrot.co.uk/2019/09/red-hots-2020-calendar-of-ginger-men-... . Gay magazine Attitude also looks at the more racy brother calendar that is also produced to celebrate the red headed male: https://attitude.co.uk/article/exclusive-get-your-first-look-at-the-nake...
