Dance music has always been very very important to the LGBTQ community, right back to the jazz and swing of the 1920s and 30s. Discos and raves have been places of solidarity has been given expression on the dancefloor and lifelong friendships made. There is much more to gay clubland than just pulling, although that is of course an important part of them too. Insomniac Television which is an online channel streaming rave culture and an offshoot of the Insomniac Festival, reports that dance music brings people of all tribes together into a union of humanity and feels that there is a great possibility for spreading the love of amongst dance music fans during this period of global pandemic. They are promoting an initiative called Rave Aid which builds financial support for people into dance music culture who are struggling due to the Covid19 global pandemic. They say “stay at home where you can, stay safe and look forward to the time when we meet on the dancefloor again”. We are sure that there will be many LGBTQ clubbers will be resonate with that sentiment.
