Philip Schofield, the popular television and radio presenter who co-hosts the flagship ITV daytime programme This Morning and who dramatically came out on live TV in February, has written a book of his life and times, called “Life’s What You Make It”. Joining Chris Moyles on the commercial network Radio X this week to discuss the book, Mr Schofield chatted about his inspirations in broadcasting and how as a young man, he took strength from listening to the legendary Radio Luxembourg, a “border blaster” station which transmitted hugely successful and popular programmes at the UK from Central Europe, much to the irritation of the British establishment. Schofield started his own career on hospital radio before graduating to local and then national radio in the UK and New Zealand. Mr Schofield is recently reported to have told reporters that he is still settling in to his identity as being an out gay man and that he is finding his feet, according to many gay newswires.
