Matt Lucas - More Circumspect Over Characters

Matt Lucas has spoken candidly to the street sold magazine The Big Issue about his comedy career and reveals that if he were making the hit series Little Britain today, he would not have parodied transvestites, or gay men, or took on the role of black characters.  Although Mr Lucas is himself a working class gay man, and is of a larger body size, his comedic characters were criticised in some quarters for laughing at, and not with, people who are gay, trans, black, larger, or disabled.
