The BBC is coming up trumps at the moment with LGBT related programming. With the fiftieth anniversary of Stonewall upon us, the British public broadcaster is taking its responsibilities to the LGBT communities seriously. At the weekend, BBC4 reshowed a documentary originally aired for the fiftieth anniversary of the partial decriminalisation of male homosexuality, in 2017. This looked back at the tremendous social changes of the last fifty years. On Tuesday night, BBC2 takes up the baton, with the BBC channel transmitting a special queer themed “Live at the Apollo”. The first of two special programmes sees lesbian comics such as Zoe Lyons entertain a mixed crowd with fast pased and observant humour. The programme goes out on Tuesday, 25th June, at 10pm.
