The Progressive Secular Humanist Blog at Patheos.com has expressed satisfaction at the death of the American radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh who has died at the age of seventy. The blog reports: “the popular conservative radio talk-show host used his platform to promote racism, Islamophobia, misogyny, conspiracy theories and other forms of malignant bigotry. He thrilled and delighted his ignorant and mean-spirited audience with his outrageous and provocative statements meant to demean and demonize minorities”. On Twitter, one user reminded people that Rush Limbaugh used to have a radio segment called "AIDS Update" where he would celebrate gay people dying from AIDS. They added “So, don't let anyone make you feel bad about making jokes today”.
