It's been described as a “global pandemic” in its own right by the World Health Organisation, and according to papers including The Guardian, it's been made much worse by the lockdown situation we have been living under for the last few months. An average of 137 women are killed by familial violence across the globe every day. At the forthcoming Festival of Ideas in Bristol, which this year is taking place on multimedia platforms, Journalist Rachel Louise Snyder looks back and reflects on the lessons she has learned from interviewing Domestic Violence victims, perpetrators, families and communities around them. She looks at the systems of society, including health care and education, to see how these can be reformed to make Domestic Violence something of the past. Her lecture is on Tuesday 30th June and you can sign up for an audience place by visiting ideasfestival.co.uk.
