LGBTQIA Activist Groups Express Bill Concern

14/08/2021

Although LGBTQIA organisations and activists are politically a diverse rainbow, sometimes groups will collaborate with non-queer organisations to pursue a common interest. Left and anarchist leaning LGBTQIA organisations have broadly supported a National Day of Action Against the Crime and Policing Bill on twenty first of August. No details are yet known about any Bristol based actions taking place, but diverse networks and organisations will take part in the actions, ranging from the traditional left, through to peace campaigners, progressive religious groups and single issue campaign groups. The common fear amongst many activist groups is that the new government proposals will severely curtail and criminalise traditional British freedoms to assembly and demonstration.
