The street sold magazine The Big Issue, which is also available on a temporary basis in shops during continued lockdown restrictions, says that the British Film Institute’s season of British short movies, called Uncertain Kingdoms, includes Jason Bradbury’s piece Isaac and the Ram. It is a thriller that looks at Isaac, a homeless young gay man who is offered a place to stay by a misanthropic nightclub bouncer. Bradbury explains an estimated twenty four per cent of homeless people are LGBTQ or somewhere under our rainbow spectrum, and that this is shocking, even to seasoned campaigners. He continues “This is an important story to be telling now because it challenges the illusion of equality that we have within the community. Progress has been made, but this mainly benefits a narrow demographic and we need to do more to help those that are left behind”. Find out more at https://www.bfi.org.uk/
