London gay listings magazine QX reports that a stunning line up of LGBTQ talent came forward to give their time and support to Silver Pride, an online event taking place late weekend to break down isolation amongst older members of our communities. The event was free to attend, and among those giving masterclasses and entertainment was actor Miriam Margolyes and Owain Wyn Evans from the BBC, with DJ Jessie Brooke from Gaydio, Manchester's LGBTQ community radio service. Silver Pride organiser, and founder of Leeds and Manchester-based charity Friends of Dorothy, Craig Burton, said: “The support we’ve had for the first ever Silver Pride event has been overwhelming, and we’re thrilled to offer such a wonderful line-up for the inaugural event”. We would also like to add our support for SilverPride, and to find out more about the hosting group, Friends of Dorothy, and their work to help gay elders, you can always visit www.silverpride.org.uk.
